TRAPPED - The Anxiety (Part 4)

Just like any other day, it was a busy day at the office. Basu was busy working on his desktop. But side by side, he was constantly checking his account. He was desperately waiting for a notification. But couldn't get any. Niyati was online but she didn't text him. Just by texting her first, Basu didn't want Niyati to catch his intension of a conversation. So ,just to make his presence felt, he liked a random photo of  Niyati and even commented on it.

Finally, his wait was over.Niyati replied.

"So, any specific reason to stay single?",asked Niyati.

The more he tried to avoid this question, the more Niyati was after him. So Basu finally decided to answer and end this. He started typing.

"Niyati, when I see relationships scattered around, I get scared. I fear that I might breakdown if I become the victim of it. I have seen years of relationship end in a blink of an eye.Yes, I agree it does not happen to everyone. But I fear that I might be the one. I just don't want to be the one. But I'm happy with what I have. I'm happy being single."

Basu completed typing but his face turned pale. His smile vanished somewhere.

"Being in a relationship is not bad as you think. A woman can change your life.", Niyati replied.

" A woman will change my life. Really?".

"Of Course, its rightly said that a woman is a homemaker. She can change a house into a home. So, I'm still suggesting you must start searching for one."

Basu was lost in a thought. He realised that he can be happy in his life and also he should be in a serious relationship.

A moment of silence followed in the chatroom. Basu couldn't type anything except staring at the green dot on the screen.

REMEMBERING OUR BELOVED SIR SARAN SUBBA

"He had the heart that cared completely. He had the smile that brought so much pleasure. He had the love that brought joy beyond measure." Saran Sir with his family Yesterday, my day began with scrolling the news as usual but by the time the day ended, I was sad and lost because we lost a person who was very very dear to us. Sir Saran Subba left for the heavenly abode on 19th June 2021. The intimation of the demise of Sir Saran stands as one of the most disappointing and darkest days to the people of Pulbazar. The void he left behind will never be filled. Sir Saran - a man of principle, a wonderful teacher, a social worker, a sports enthusiast, a leader, and the list goes on. Moreover, he was a loveable and a gem of an individual. Sir Saran always carried a big smile on his face. In fact, I never saw him angry and I bet no one else ever did.  Sir Saran Subba representing Pulbazar Shuttlers Association in Veteran Badminton Tournament held in Bijanbari (2021) I was fortunate en...

UNTITILED

She is the sunshine, I'm the sun. She is the thunder and I'm  the storm. She is the sea, I'm the shore, She is the poetry and I'm the metaphor. She is the king, I'm the throne, She is the muscles and I'm the bone. She is the shoe, I'm the laces, She is the deck and I'm the aces. She is the word, I'm the letter, She is the story and I'm the teller. She is the book, I'm the pages, She is the sentence and I'm the spaces.

THE SOLDIER

Little and innocent was I, leading my band of army guys. Towards a destined Battle. We drift forward. Little soldiers, Captains and Colonels Marching forward with plastic guns and ‘bullets’ With tiny fingers on the trigger, seeking the enemies in their hideouts., The conquest would end, when we had captured and taken all ‘prisoners’ out. Though I have come far, the desire still lives on; to become an invincible soldier, brave and strong. But now, I desire to become a ‘Soldier’ of a different kind, Not the ones with arms and arsenal. But, a soldier who fights for humanity, a soldier who respects woman, a soldier who uproots the evils of the society. An honest and selfless soldier a soldier to spread love not hate, Finally, A soldier who makes this world more beautiful and a better place to live in.
