TRAPPED- The Friend Request (Part 2)

Days elapsed, months passed by. Now, Basu has his head above the water. He has successfully adjusted himself to the emptiness around and has mastered the skills in putting fake smiles to delude himself.

But, sometimes Bani's absence still hurt him. The pain is not so intense as before but now, it is like a needle that pricks. He remembers how he stepped to a girl, who gave meaning to his life. How their "best friends" tag changed into "beautiful couple". But everything changed after Bani left and now it doesn't matter at all.

After all these days, Basu convinced himself that he has moved on. Yes! Of course social networks helped him a lot- where he projected himself as an independent king of his own domain but in real he was just a rebuffed tycoon.

One day to his selfmade peaceful yet desolate realm, he receives an unpromted friend request. A friend request from a girl. He simply rejected the request.

Next morning, he receives another. But this time with a message - "Hi Basu, don't be so rude, just accept my request". To his surprise, he goes through her profile. He finds nothing except a display picture of mountain. So again, he rejects the request. This time he promptly receives a message- "How can a debate winner in college be this silent? " This made him to think for a while and it was at this moment he tried to figure out the name on the screen, it read a familiar name Niyati.

Saran Sir with his family Yesterday, my day began with scrolling the news as usual but by the time the day ended, I was sad and lost because we lost a person who was very very dear to us. Sir Saran Subba left for the heavenly abode on 19th June 2021. The intimation of the demise of Sir Saran stands as one of the most disappointing and darkest days to the people of Pulbazar. The void he left behind will never be filled. Sir Saran - a man of principle, a wonderful teacher, a social worker, a sports enthusiast, a leader, and the list goes on. Moreover, he was a loveable and a gem of an individual. Sir Saran always carried a big smile on his face. In fact, I never saw him angry and I bet no one else ever did.  Sir Saran Subba representing Pulbazar Shuttlers Association in Veteran Badminton Tournament held in Bijanbari (2021) I was fortunate en...

She is the word, I'm the letter, She is the story and I'm the teller. She is the book, I'm the pages, She is the sentence and I'm the spaces.
