TRAPPED- The Friend Request (Part 2)

Days elapsed, months passed by. Now, Basu has his head above the water. He has successfully adjusted himself to the emptiness around and has mastered the skills in putting fake smiles to delude himself.

But, sometimes Bani's absence still hurt him. The pain is not so intense as before but now, it is like a needle that pricks. He remembers how he stepped to a girl, who gave meaning to his life. How their "best friends" tag changed into "beautiful couple". But everything changed after Bani left and now it doesn't matter at all.

After all these days, Basu convinced himself that he has moved on. Yes! Of course social networks helped him a lot- where he projected himself as an independent king of his own domain but in real he was just a rebuffed tycoon.

One day to his selfmade peaceful yet desolate realm, he receives an unpromted friend request. A friend request from a girl. He simply rejected the request.

Next morning, he receives another. But this time with a message - "Hi Basu, don't be so rude, just accept my request". To his surprise, he goes through her profile. He finds nothing except a display picture of mountain. So again, he rejects the request. This time he promptly receives a message- "How can a debate winner in college be this silent? " This made him to think for a while and it was at this moment he tried to figure out the name on the screen, it read a familiar name Niyati.

TRAPPED- The First Taste (Part 1)

It was another boring and tiring day for Basu. The hectic schedule at the office seemed to add another bitter taste to his messed up life. The clock on the wall struck 1 am. Basu was lying on his bed thinking of something, something which has not been going well since last few months. From the time his girlfriend, Baani, left him his life has completely turned around. Since then he has become less social and seemed to have a good of friends with loneliness. He tries to sleep but his eyes are wide awake. He then reaches for his mobile lying on the table, next to his bed. He stared at his lock screen for hours while tears rolled down his cheeks and memories flooding his mind. He unlocked the screen and still kept glaring at his mobile. He scrolled through the pictures of those wonderful moments, they shared together making promises to stay together for a lifetime. He could feel her presence everywhere. Every second of his life, everything he did, it reminded him of her. She was a...

Just like any other day, it was a busy day at the office. Basu was busy working on his desktop. But side by side, he was constantly checking his account. He was desperately waiting for a notification. But couldn't get any. Niyati was online but she didn't text him. Just by texting her first, Basu didn't want Niyati to catch his intension of a conversation. So ,just to make his presence felt, he liked a random photo of  Niyati and even commented on it. Finally, his wait was over.Niyati replied. "So, any specific reason to stay single?",asked Niyati. The more he tried to avoid this question, the more Niyati was after him. So Basu finally decided to answer and end this. He started typing. "Niyati, when I see relationships scattered around, I get scared. I fear that I might breakdown if I become the victim of it. I have seen years of relationship end in a blink of an eye.Yes, I agree it does not happen to everyone. But I fear that I might be the one. ...
